Getting Started
Set up your Simplae assistant from scratch in a few clear steps.
Getting started with Simplae
This guide walks you through your first day with Simplae — from creating your account to sending a test text. No technical background required.

Step 1: Create your account
Sign up with your work email and business name. Use an email you check daily — that is where setup reminders and important alerts go. If you already received a demo link, sign in with the same email to claim your trial business.
Step 2: Complete your business profile
Add your business name, address, timezone, and industry. These details help your assistant give accurate answers about location and hours. Double-check your timezone — it affects when automated messages send and how conversation timestamps display.
Step 3: Teach your assistant
Head to Knowledge in your portal. Start with one easy win:
- Import your website URL, or
- Upload a PDF menu or price sheet, or
- Type your top ten customer questions and answers
You do not need everything on day one. Many owners start with hours, services, and parking — then add more over the first week.
Step 4: Go live (when you are ready)
Your assistant can run in demo mode before you go live. When you are ready for real customers, follow the SMS overview to register your number — Simplae handles the carrier paperwork; you just confirm a few business details. Plan a few business days for carrier approval if you are in the United States.
Step 5: Send a test message
Text your business number from your personal phone. Ask something you taught — for example, "What are your hours Saturday?" Read the reply in Conversations. If the answer is wrong, update your knowledge and try again.
Your first-week checklist
| Day | Task |
|---|---|
| Day 1 | Profile, website import, first test text |
| Day 2 | Upload PDF or photos of signage and menus |
| Day 3 | Connect SMS or finish verification paperwork |
| Day 4 | Review 5 real or test conversations, fix gaps |
| Day 5 | Connect Google Calendar if you take appointments |
Common first-day questions
Can I try without a phone number? Yes — use demo mode and the in-browser simulator.
Will customers know it is AI? You control the greeting. Many businesses introduce the assistant by name and offer to connect to a person.
What if I make a mistake? Knowledge updates apply to future messages. Past texts stay in history for reference.
