Website Import

Pull information from your business website into your assistant.

Import from your website

If you already have a website, importing it is the fastest way to teach your assistant. Simplae reads your public pages and turns the text into searchable knowledge.

When to use website import

Website import works well for service lists, about pages, contact details, and FAQ pages. It is less reliable for information locked inside images or interactive booking widgets — upload those separately as PDFs or photos.

How to import

  1. Open Knowledge in your portal.
  2. Choose Import website.
  3. Paste your homepage URL (include https://).
  4. Wait for processing — usually one to three minutes for a small site.
  5. Open Review imports and scan the extracted text.

What gets imported

Simplae fetches readable text from linked public pages on the same domain, up to reasonable limits. It does not log into member areas or password-protected staff portals.

After import

Read the extracted content like a customer would. Remove navigation menus, cookie banners, and duplicate footers if they appear. Add anything missing — for example, holiday hours that live only on Instagram.

Common issues

Import failed — Check that your site is publicly reachable and not blocking automated access.

Wrong business imported — Verify the URL; some domains park generic pages.

Missing prices — Prices in images need a PDF upload or photo.

Example

Maria runs a dental office. Her site lists cleanings, whitening, and insurance partners. After import, she adds a manual note: "We do not handle emergency oral surgery — refer to Dr. Lee at 555-0199." That one line prevents awkward replies.
