SMS Compliance

Customer-care SMS rules for AI receptionist messaging with Simplae.

SMS compliance for owners

Simplae v1 is your AI receptionist for customer-initiated texting. Customers text your business number first; Simplae responds for support, scheduling, confirmations, reminders, and service follow-ups. Compliance protects your number, your reputation, and your customers.

What Simplae SMS is for

  • AI receptionist replies when customers text you first (primary v1 flow)
  • Appointment confirmations and scheduling updates
  • Appointment reminders customers reasonably expect
  • Customer-support follow-ups tied to an inquiry

Simplae v1 is not a bulk SMS marketing platform. Coupon blasts, newsletters, promotional campaigns, and cold outbound messages are not supported.

Rules of thumb

  1. Treat customer-initiated texting as the primary consent flow in v1.
  2. Get consent before texting customers who have not initiated a conversation.
  3. Honor STOP immediately.
  4. Identify your business in messages.
  5. Keep proof of opt-in and opt-out.

Opt-in examples for A2P review

Customer initiates text conversation (primary v1 flow)

A customer texts your business number: "Hi, do you have availability tomorrow?" That starts a customer-initiated customer-care conversation. Simplae's first reply includes required disclosure language and assistance with the request.

See the public consent example for the full customer-initiated flow.

Use a checkbox on your website or contact form before texting service updates. Simplae provides a public consent example you can reference during carrier review.

Example checkbox language: "Text me appointment confirmations, reminders, and replies to my inquiries."

During a phone call or in-person visit: "May we text you appointment reminders and replies to your questions?" Document the date, channel, and what the customer agreed to.

In your booking flow: "Text me appointment confirmations and reminders for this booking."

Businesses must collect and retain consent before sending SMS through Simplae.

STOP and HELP

Simplae handles STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, and QUIT immediately. Opted-out contacts are blocked from future outbound SMS unless they opt back in.

HELP replies should include your business name and a support contact method.

Owner certification

Before SMS testing or outbound messaging is enabled, certify in the portal that your business will use Simplae SMS only for customer care and will honor opt-out requests.

Registration

US local numbers need A2P 10DLC registration. Finish every portal checklist item before high-volume sends.

Records

Keep opt-in forms and consent records offline as backup evidence. Conversation history stays in your portal as long as your account is active.
